Located just a short walk from the historic wine cellar street of Villánykövesd—one of the most authentic wine cellar rows in the Villány Wine Region—Hotel Cabernet is the perfect base for exploring this unique destination and its fascinating network of traditional wine cellars. We are also just a 35-minute drive from the beautiful city of Pécs, making our hotel an ideal destination for travellers looking to combine wine country with cultural sightseeing in Southern Hungary.
With 25 air-conditioned rooms, Hotel Cabernet offers the warm, personal atmosphere of a boutique hotel in Hungary, where genuine hospitality, local traditions and memorable experiences come together.
Our cosy restaurant and à la carte bistro-style restaurant serves traditional Hungarian dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients, handcrafted burgers and carefully paired wine dinners that showcase the flavours of the region.
Beyond wine tastings, we offer a variety of authentic local experiences, including seasonal grape harvest events, scenic vineyard hikes, boat trips and even traditional Hungarian pig slaughter experiences, giving you the opportunity to discover the culture, flavours and traditions of the Villány Wine Region in a truly memorable way.
Undisturbed rest is guaranteed for our guests coming to Villánykövesd by the 20 double, 4 triple and 1 family bedrooms of Hotel Cabernet. A bathroom, television, telephone, Internet connection, and, in some cases, a balcony or an exit to the terrace belongs to each room of the hotel. Each room of the hotel can be equipped with an extra bed and is non-smoking. The spacious rooms of the hotel (halls, terrace, cellar restaurant, conference hall, garden) provide comfortable stay to bigger groups of friends, as well.

Our cosy cellar restaurant provides a perfect place for wine tastings and high-quality wine dinners, harvests, or even for romantic dinners. A wine safe and a small wine cellar also belong to the restaurant where the excellent wines of our family winery are stored, and which can be tasted by our guests. This wine cellar is the first cellar of the cellar-row of Villánykövesd. Capacity of the restaurant is 60-80 person.
Countryside breakfast
Start your day with a fresh, homemade breakfast featuring local ingredients, Hungarian specialities and seasonal flavours. At our breakfast buffet, guests can enjoy a true farm-to-table experience with homemade jams made from 100% fruit, traditional homemade Stifolder sausage, local honey and egg, homemade cakes and fresh seasonal fruit from our orchards. Gluten-free and lactose-free options are also available.
The gastronomic heart of Hotel Cabernet is Sárga Ház Borgerező, where guests can enjoy light yet high-quality dishes. Our bistro-style restaurant offers dishes inspired by Swabian traditions, exciting bistro favourites and artisan burgers – naturally accompanied by local wines.

Our family-owned winery is located in the picturesque village of Palkonya, in the heart of the Villány Wine Region. In addition to producing award-winning grape and premium fruit wines, the Mokos family also grows its own fruit and raises livestock.
Our unique premium fruit wines, made exclusively from 100% homegrown fruit without added water, artificial colourings, or flavourings, are a true specialty of the Villány Wine Region and can be tasted exclusively at Hotel Cabernet.
